CURLY HAIR EXTRAS
These items can help but aren't absolutely necessary.
Satin pillowcase
Buy two and use them for two different things. Put one on your pillow to reduce frizz. Use the other to scrunch product out of your hair after it's dry. Using your hands to loosen stiff gel or mousse will cause frizz but satin will take care of it! Available on Amazon or any linen store. You can also use ANY satin item that you have lying around. I'm currently using an old satin dress. Lol!
Vegetable glycerin
This works for some people but not others. It's also very inexpensive so it's worth a shot. This is a great video that explains what glycerin is and how to use it. My hair is very fine, so too much will weigh my hair down but I've found that a drop or two in water will definitely hydrate my curls!
Diffuser attachment
I never leave home without this. Air drying is best for frizz-free hair. However, if you want volume and don't have time to wait all day for your hair to dry, you need this! Available on Amazon or any beauty supply store.
DIY cornstarch hair mask
Who knew? Cornstarch is very hydrating and (also) very inexpensive. This video shows you how easy it is to make a hair mask on your stove. Leave in for about 20 - 30 minutes, rinse, and your dry hair will be thanking you! (Not mentioned in the video but you can also add a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil for extra hydration if you need it.)
